Solve this math problem: Your kitten can get pregnant as early as 4 months of age. If she has 6 female kittens, and those kittens get pregnant at 4 months, how many kittens will you have in two years?

The answer –
 TOO MANY!

Thousands of pets die in our local shelter each year. Hundreds of unwanted puppies and kittens are dropped off
at the shelter every breeding season. Most will die there. All because unsterilized pets are free to roam and breed.

Don’t be a part of the problem - you can be part of the solution!

Walton Animal Guild offers financial assistance to qualified Walton County residents to have their animals spayed or neutered.

Eligibility:  Pet owners who currently receive the following types of government assistance are eligible for the program:

                  • SSI
                  • Social Security
                  • unemployment
                  • WIC
                  • Food stamps.
Individual must furnish proof of identity and verification of government benefits prior to surgery. WAG will fund all or part of surgery expense at participating veterinarians. A minimum co-pay may apply.

Look for other programs offered during the year to all residents - No More Mother’s Day offering free Mama Cat spays, or Un-Father’s Day neutering male pets at discount costs.

Don't qualify for our low-income program? The Georgia Department of Agriculture funds
a program available to all veterinary clinics subsidizing a certain number of sterilization
surgeries each month. Contact your local vet clinic and ask if their office has
available appointments.
